• Q We would like to know if Sentry will consider to manufacture an IR thermometer as OEM in the future? How long it would take for Sentry to do an exclusive design (the plastic enclosure only, the electronics could remain the same)?
    A
Yes, we are capable and willing to do the OEM business. According to our past experiences, the development period varies depends on different unexpected factors, but normally, or say standard procedures, are as follows:
    1. Aesthetics: After we receive your design, we still need to check with you and mold vendor back and forth.
    2. Electronics / Layout -> Mold -> Prototype / Engineering Sample -> Pilot Run -> Verification -> Mass Production
  • Q Can we buy the product with private label?
    A
Yes, you can either provide your own sketch with pantone color, or, we can modify at our side. Then, we will e-mail it for you to confirm the acceptance.
  • Q Some applications in the Food Industry may require specific emissivities, such a liquid filled brown glass bottles. I notice an adjustable emissivity Food Temp unit isn't listed. Is this a possibility?
    A
The energy emitted from the object at such low temperature is so rare to detect. And normally, the surface of object was frosted over. Theoretically, no matter what kind of material covered by frost, the emissivity of the surface is around 0.97~0.98. That is the reason we programmed it without adjustability.
  • Q What is the Operation Temperature?
    A
As we stated in the specification sheet, the suggested operation Temperature is from 0~50°C. Since our IR Guns are being designed to compensate the environment temperature, so they will still keep the measurement within the tolerance. So, after you left our gun in the test chamber at 50 degree Celsius for 3 hours, it does not appear any problem. But we can not guarantee the accuracy if you left it at the temperature higher than 50°C
  • Q You have in the specifications the operating temperature range but not storage temperature range.
    A
Sentry’s suggested storage temperature is -10~60°C, 10~90%RH. As per verification, our IR Gun can still work fine at minus 20 degrees for hours, but we think it is better not to recommend doing so.
  • Q In your documentation about the tests conducted using frequencies between 80-1000MHz when the thermopile doesn't measure within that range. What do you mean by 3 orientations in that same paragraph?
    A
The 3 orientations mean the frequencies radiated from 3 directions (X, Y and Z) toward the IR gun during the test.
  • Q Can we do the separate shipments for one order?
    A
Yes, but this is applicable for the order quantity more than 1000 units.
